Come adventure with me
Waiting Cliffs
Come venture along the majestic Waitpinga Cliffs
On a chill summer’s morning we venture out to Kings Beach to watch the sun rise above the waves.
As the sun gradually rises above the cool waters, the various sea birds flock on the shores and ride the morning breeze.
Soon the time comes to venture onwards, following the route of the Heysen Trail.
The sea is foaming, and the wind whips it up over the trail.
As we pass through the golden fields we encounter the locals enjoying their breakfasts.
Then, as we crest the hill the imposing Waiting cliffs come majestically into view.
The trail then heads up onto the cliff-tops, and winds it way through the Newland Head Conservation Park. The low rolling fields gives way to the dense scrub.
Eventually, however, we come to the end of our little excursion and we look back at the cliffs in the glorious morning light.
Moonset
With a hot day looming it is always good to get an early start to the day, and what better way to spend the summer than at the beach. After having checked to see when the moon was going to be setting, it was down to Port Noarlunga to try and get the moon and jetty into some kind of a shot. The seas were tranquil and the skies were clear. The moon, however, was a tad on the hazy side, but it did have a gorgeous warm quality to it.
Once the moon was gone and the sun was starting to rise it was time to partake in that most delightful of morning rituals; coffee.
